Sinopsis:
Hypatia es una filosofa griega que vive y trabaja en Alejandría allá por el año 400 DC. Es una época turbulenta y esta ciudad será testigo de una de las mayores revueltas populares llevadas a cabo por el Cristianismo, la destrucción de la biblioteca mas importante del mundo, la Biblioteca de Alejandría. Hypatia es atea, y lucha por que la sabiduría del mundo antiguo perdure, a ella no la van a convencer ni los cristianos ni los judios ni nadie, ella cree en la ciencia, no en los dioses.
Su entorno poco a poco va convirtiéndose al cristianosmo, su criado Davo se debatirá entre la religión y el profundo amor que siente por su ama; Orestes, un alumno de ella, escalará en el escalafón político y ella será su mas fiel consejera, incluso un obispo católico tendrá bastante en cuenta lo que ella pueda enseñarle.
Una historia de cómo la avaricia y el ascenso al poder hacen que cada persona crea en lo que cree de una manera u otra y que lo escrito en los libros sagrados pueda ser manipulado en busca del beneficio religioso.
