Iced Earth is an American heavy metal band that combine influences from thrash metal, power metal, progressive metal, opera, speed metal and NWOBHM. Iced Earth has been known to have a volatile and oft changing line-up. Founding member, songwriter, and rhythm guitarist Jon Schaffer being the only original member who has remained, handling nearly all of the songwriting and leading the band. Current vocalist Matt Barlow and former lead guitarist Randall Shawver are the next longest-tenured members, the only people besides Schaffer to have spent a full decade in the band. Shawver, the first lead guitarist to record with the band, joined in 1988 and remained until 1998. Barlow joined in 1994 and remained until 2003, when he was inspired by the September 11, 2001 attacks in the U.S. to leave the band and become a law enforcement officer. However, he returned to the group in late 2007. In 1999 Jon Schaffer teamed up with Blind Guardian vocalist Hansi Kürsch to form a side project called Demons & Wizards and have released two albums to date. wena, otro buen plato servido en el meson, tiene como varias etapas esta banda, de sus inicios se les aprecia un sonido mas speed metal, como mas thrashiado, luego con el inconfundible mattew barlow, siguieron manteniendo la agresividad, pero le dio barlow un toque mas melodico, con temas como melancholy, i die for you, lo penka que se fue pero igual su reemplazo no fue tan malo, el ex vocalo de judas priest que reemplazo a halford, tim "ripper" owens, pero para mi en esta etapa su sonido se puso muy power metalero, muy trillao, muy progressive metal, aunke igual tienen buenos temas, como la balada del glorious burden, when the eagles cries, que es un hermoso tema encuentro yo. Pero ahora mattew barlow se reconcilio con sus demonios y ha vuelto a iced earth, hay que ver, como sigue su sonido ahora, si volvio a hacer el mas cañero de antes, seguiran mas melodicos, recuerden que barlow viene de haber pasado por la banda pyramaze, que si que ellos tienen un sonido muy melodico y tirao pal progressive metal, grax loquillo, a descargar no mas, una banda mas para la coleccion metalurgica. xauxelas xaero¡¡¡¡ nos VENOM'¡¡¡
