Ayuda por favor, alguien que me diga paso a paso como configurar un ap cisco 1200 via web como repetidor. Ocurre lo siguiente, lo conecte con un cable de consola del db9 del laptop al rj del access point que dice consola, utilize un cable cruzado para conectarlo por la lan de la maquina al puerto que dice ethernet en el access, con la antena colocada y lo resetee manteniendo pulsado mode mientras lo conectaba a la energia para asegurarme de devolverlo a al conf de fabrica. el caso es que no puedo ingresar via el navegador al access para configurarlo. asigno ip fija al pc de forma 10.0.0.10 mascara 255.0.0.0 y puerta de enlace 10.0.0.1 y nada, tampoco con dhcp me funciona, no responde de ninguna forma al ping a la direccion que se supone tiene por default. ayuda por favor
estoy seguro, el procedimiento que segui es: desconecto el ap luego mientras lo conecto de nuevo, mantengo pulsado el boton mode, el led de enfrente se vuelve naranja indicando que ha vuelto al default de fabrica. este informacion la obtuve de la pagina oficial de cisco, que entre otras cosas es casi incomprensible si no se sabe ingles. el modelo del ap es 1200
que hermoso aparato.. la verdad es primera vez que veo uno (por fotos en google)... y me pareció la raja bueno me lei el manual de guia de instalacion rapida de la pagina oficial... de lo cual entendi lo siguiente: primero que todo el AP debe tener una ip para poder configurarlo via navegador... segun la guia dice que existen 2 formas... la 1era es que cuentes con un servidor DHCP (puede ser un router o modem de tu compañia de internet)... que conectes el AP con un cable rj-45(directo no cruzado) directamente al puerto ethernet del AP (no el puerto de consola)... de esta manera el servidor DHCP le entregara nos datos de red necesario... la segunda opcion es usando un software de cisco llamado IPSU este se configura con el puerto de consola del AP... me di la paja de buscartelo de otra pagina que no sea la oficial por que en ella debes estar registrado (es la misma version del software)... http://195.148.217.80/Public/Cisco/WLAN/1230_AG/IPSU1v101013.exe bueno ahora debes conectar la parte rj45 del cable de consola al AP y la parte COM... a un puerto COM de algun pc... luego ejecutas el programa ese y deberia pedirte los parametros de red... alguna ip validad, mascara de subred y puerta de enlace...te recomiendo que saques esos datos de algun pc y solo cambie el ultimo numero de la ip de la pc y se la pones al AP... el cable que menciono es este y se llama rollover... luego de realizar cualquiera de esos 2 procedimientos puedes entrar via Web a la configuracion del AP... porsupuesto con la Ip que fijaste o que se le entrego por DHCP... por el momento eso... si lo logras podriamos seguir ayudandote compare... exito y cualquier duda las haces aca mismo. pd: aca esta la guia de instalacion rapida.. por si acaso Insertar CODE, HTML o PHP: http://translate.google.cl/translate?hl=es&sl=en&u=http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/access_point/1200/vxworks/quick/guide/12KDBQSG.html&ei=KxqfT_i_IMbgggeMrKDmDQ&sa=X&oi=translate&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CCgQ7gEwAA&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dcisco%2Baironet%2B1200%2Bseries%2Bsetup%26hl%3Des%26biw%3D1280%26bih%3D664%26prmd%3Dimvns

instale el software y cuando lo ejecuto para que darle el parametro de ip mascara y enlace me dice "device not answer" lo conecte via el rollover que pusiste en la imagen al com 1 de la laptop,cuando esta conectado en el apartado de redes de windows 7 dice red no idenificada. alguna idea de que puede pasar???. gracias por tu ayuda
si el software CISCO no funciona.. puedes probar con el emulador de terminal Putty Insertar CODE, HTML o PHP: http://the.earth.li/~sgtatham/putty/latest/x86/putty.exe con todo conectado como te dije anteriormente ejecutas putty y escoges una conexion Serial a 9600 baud (speed) y aplicas Open.. a ver si hay algun tipo de conexión entre tu maquina y el AP.

Bueno, nuevamente yo, agradezco la pagina fue de un apoyo impresionante, consistente y directa. Gracias. Ingrese a la configuracion del ap como se indica y se cambio la ip a 10.0.0.1 mascara 255.255.255.0. Desconecto el ap despues de guardar la configuracion y le conecto un cable directo por ethernet, responde ping a la direccion 10.0.0.1 pero cuando ingreso por el navegador (internet explorer 9) no me devuelve la configuracion via web. Puedes por favor ayudarme con eso. Gracias nuevamente por el apoyo. puede que sea por el tipo de ip que le pusiste... ponele una que esta cerca a tu rango.. en windows en la consola, ms.dos o lo que sea averigua tu ip ipconfig /all y los parametros que te salgan ponecelos al AP por ejemplo Datos de Red del PC Ip: 192.168.1.10 mascara de subred:255.255.255.0 puerta de enlace predeterminada: 192.168.1.1 entonces al AP le fijas Ip:192.168.1.11 mascara de subred:255.255.255.0 puerta de enlace predeterminada: 192.168.1.1 solo cambia el ultimo dígito de la ip de la pc... para que este entre los mismo rangos.
