Twisted Sister es una banda estadounidense de Heavy Metal formada en la ciudad de Nueva York. Su trabajo fusiona las tácticas impactantes de Alice Cooper, el humor rebelde de la nueva ola del metal britanico, el estilo de New York Dolls y el extravagante maquillaje de KISS. El grupo tiene una imagen Glam, aderezada con un punto más barriobajero y deliberadamente chabacano; su sonido se podría comparar en ocasiones las clásicas bandas de Heavy Metal como Judas Priest y Motörhead, mientras que otras muchas se puede acercar a bandas Hard Rock como Alice Cooper o Kiss, ya que cuenta con un fuerte componente de Rock and roll, de manera similar a bandas como Poison o Ratt, Dee Snider. El vocalista del grupo, dijo en una entrevista: Yo no pienso que Twisted Sister es "Glam", porque eso implica glamour, y nosotros no somos glamorosos.
