Het Arresthuis se desempeñó como cárcel holandesa en 1862, posteriormente estuvo abandonada por años. Funcionó nuevamente en 2002, cuando servía como centro de emergencia, hasta mediados de 2007. Este año reabrió sus puertas, esta vez como un majestuoso hotel.
