WWF Triple H That Damn Good Backstage politics aside, Triple H is one of the best performers (when he wants to be) in the industry today. This DVD I wouldn't say is a "best of Triple H" collection but it does highlight some of his best matches throughout 2000-2001. Street Fight vs Vince McMahon from Armageddon 1999 - This is Vince McMahon's best match ever. Yeah, this match is better than Vince's matches with Austin, Hogan, and Rock. The go all over the arena in this hardcore brawl. The ending was something of a shocker at the time & this set up the McMahon-Helsmley era. Street Fight vs Cactus Jack from Royal rumble 2000 - The was the match that established HHH was a solid main eventer. Great match from both of these wrestlers as thumbtacks, handcuffs, barbwire, ect. are used here. Note: Also available on the Mick Foley "Greatest Hits & Misses" DVD Last Man Standing vs Chris Jericho from Fully Loaded 2000 - Both men gave it their all in this match. Jericho is a great overall worker & HHH can match that work ethic for this great match. vs WWF Champion The Rock vs Kurt Angle at Summerslam 2000 - Triple H stated before the match that this was the most unusual match he's been in. It's more like HHH vs. The Rock featuring Kurt Angle because Kurt gets beat up & carried to the back before the match really starts. On the "Don't Try This At Home" promos before the start of any WWE video, you'll see a part where HHH tries to pedigree someone on a table but it breaks...this is where that clip came from. HHH & Rock go at it but after this, Kurt comes back & gets involved in the last 5 mins. along with Stephanie McMahon. Again, this match was unusual but every entertaining. 3 Stages Of Hell vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin from No Way Out 2001 - The first fall is a straight up match, second fall is a street fight, and the final fall is inside a steel cage. This was the match of the year for 2001. I literally can't describe this match as it had a taste of everything for everyone. They show HHH returning to WWF at MSG from his quad injury. vs Undisputed Champion Chris Jericho from WrestleMania X8 - This was a complete letdown from the previous HHH/Jericho match. This match is more revolved around HHH getting his hands on Stephanie than Jericho. HHH eventually wins the title but if you knew the buildup going into the match...who didn't see that coming. DVD extras are basically just the background videos leading into each of the matches (eventhought the HHH/Jericho WM18 buildup is something I want to forget...the Undisputed Champion of the World walking Stephanie's dog?) A great set of matches featuring Triple H that I would recommend.
