S.O.D o conocido como Stormtroopers of Death es un grupo musical de Crossover Thrashhttp://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crossover_thrash, fundado en 1984 en N Y
S.O.D es un proyecto paralelo en el que trabajaban miembros de bandas como ANthrax y Nuclear Assaulthttp://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_Assault, con tintes de humer negro, que se reagrupa de manera esporádica para grabar un nuevo álbum.
S.O.D. o Stormtroopers Of Death estos wnes se formaron por obra y gracia de Scott ian (Anthrax). Éste loko se dedicaba hacer dibujos sobre un tal personaje Sargent D, e incluso escribía slóganes y letras sobre este mismo. Asi que se decidió a formar una banda basada en este personaje; para eso reclutó al baterista de Anthrax Charlie Benante, al ex-bajista de Anthrax Danny Lilker, y al bajista de la banda Psychos, Billy Milano, quien sería el cantante de S.O.D.
Caracterizados por su humor negro, sus letras "politicamente incorrectas" y por la reiterada aparición del Sargent D!, los S.O.D. fueron pioneros en la escena del Crossover Thrash donde se han destacado también bandas como D.R.I. o Municipal Waste.
