    y lanzan hacia el cielo un horrísono aullido
    como los espíritus errantes y sin patria
    que se ponen a gemir obstinadamente.    ​
    Largos coches fúnebres, sin tambores ni música,
    desfilan lentamente en mi alma; la esperanza,
    vencida, llora, y la angustia atroz, despótica,
    en mi craneo abatido planta su bandera negra.
